For me, being able to give people the knowledge to increase their self awareness and self confidence is so rewarding. Hearing the actions they have taken, the changes they have made and how this has made them feel is even better. I’m so glad I was brave enough to walk away from my job because this is where it has led me.
After 19 years of working in the corporate environment, I decided to take the opportunity of a company restructure to volunteer for redundancy. This enabled me to pursue a career that I both enjoyed and had a natural ability for.
Looking back, the best aspects of my working life had always been when I was working with people, helping them to help themselves. Image consultancy is all about giving people the knowledge on how to look good and feel good. It also encompasses some of my hobbies of making jewellery, assembling outfits and helping friends to shop for clothes.
So I contacted the Federation of Image Consultants and booked myself an intensive course with one of their recommended trainers. I passed this course, on the modules of Colour Analysis, Female Style, Wardrobe and Personal Shopping, with distinction. I knew then that I had found the career I had been searching for and Keirrowe Image Consultancy was established in Perth, Scotland.
